My interest in massage started as a child with helping family members and friends. Initially I persued a career in Cosmetology where my innate massage skills blossomed. Soon after obtaining my license I sustained severe injuries from an auto accident. After a year of conventional therapies that provided no relief, I was introduced to therapeutic massage. That experience launched my pursuit of obtaining massage certification which was soon followed by training in ManaLomi®, a form of Traditional Hawaiian Lomilomi.
Having ancestral ties to Hawai'i, and a hula dancer since the age of 12, I later discovered that my Great Grandmother in Hawai'i was a healer. She was referred patients when doctors did not know how to treat them. With a kitchen table for patients to lay upon, a can of Crisco for massage oil, and devotional healing prayer, she brought relief and healing to many.
This year I celebrate 30 years as a licensed massage therapist and offer ManaLomi massage classes to massage professionals and the general public.
